How to transfer credit card points to Aeromexico Rewards
Last updated October 30, 2026 · By Kyle Burrows
Aeromexico Rewards (called Club Premier until 2023) is Aeromexico's program. It books Aeromexico and SkyTeam partners such as Delta, Air France and KLM. Amex points convert at more than 1:1.
There are two kinds of award. Classic awards use a fixed price chart, have limited seats and cover SkyTeam partners. Dynamic awards follow the cash fare and only work on Aeromexico, Delta, KLM and Air France.
Which bank points transfer to Aeromexico
| Bank points | Ratio | How long it takes |
|---|---|---|
| American Express Membership Rewards | 1,000 to 1,600 | Amex shows an estimate of up to 48 hours. |
| Capital One Miles | 1:1 | Usually quick. Check the time shown on screen. |
| Rove Miles | 1:1 | Usually within a day. Rove allows up to 20 days. |
Citi stopped transferring to Aeromexico in January 2026. Chase, Bilt and Wells Fargo don't transfer to Aeromexico Rewards. Aeromexico isn't a US airline, so Amex doesn't add its excise fee on this transfer.
Banks sometimes run transfer bonuses to Aeromexico. Check the transfer screen on the day you move points.
Before you move any points
- Open a free Aeromexico Rewards account at aeromexico.com if you don't have one. Your account number is in your profile.
- Make the names match on your bank account, Aeromexico Rewards account and passport.
- Find the flight first, and note the award type. Check whether the seat is a Classic or dynamic award, and the taxes. Transfers can't be undone.
- Partner flights may need a call. Many partner awards don't show online. Aeromexico recommends calling at least 7 business days before departure for these.
How to transfer from each bank
American Express. Log in at americanexpress.com, open Membership Rewards and choose Transfer Points, then Aeromexico Rewards. The first time, link your Aeromexico Rewards number and confirm with your card's security code or a one-time code. Amex only sends points to your own account, or to an authorized user who has had their card for at least 90 days. New Amex card? Each new US Membership Rewards card can start with its own separate points balance. Before you transfer, and before you cancel that card, link it to your main account under Manage Connections on the Amex website or app, so all your points sit in one balance.
Capital One. Sign in, open your rewards, and choose the option to transfer your miles, then Aeromexico Rewards. Your Capital One name has to match the Aeromexico Rewards account. The minimum is 1,000 miles.
Rove. Sign in at rove.com or in the Rove app, tap your profile icon, then Transfer Miles, and choose Aeromexico Rewards. Your Aeromexico Rewards account has to exist already, and its name and number must match your Rove account. Check the ratio and any minimum on screen before you confirm. Rove says most transfers finish within a day, but some take up to 20 days. Rove transfers can't be cancelled.
Check that the points arrived
Log in at aeromexico.com or in the app and check the points balance in your Aeromexico Rewards profile. If nothing shows after the usual time, check your bank's transfer history for the number and name you used. Don't send a second transfer.
How to book the award on aeromexico.com
- Sign in to Aeromexico Rewards at aeromexico.com or in the app.
- Start a flight search and choose the option to pay with points.
- Enter your airports, dates, cabin and travelers, and search.
- Pick your flights. Check whether each price is Classic or dynamic, and check the operating airline on every leg.
- Enter each traveler's name, date of birth and gender exactly as on their passport.
- Pay the taxes and fees by card.
- Save the booking reference.
If a partner flight doesn't show online, call Aeromexico Rewards with the exact flights and dates.
The fees to know
- Taxes: they vary by route and show before you pay.
- High season: Classic prices go up in high season. For 2026–27 that includes Dec 11, 2026 to Jan 10, 2027, plus spring and summer periods.
- Changes and cancellations: charged in Mexican pesos (see below).
Changes and cancellations
- Changes cost 700 to 5,400 Mexican pesos, depending on the route. To or from the US it's about 4,000 pesos.
- Cancellations cost about 1,930 pesos on domestic Mexico trips or 2,900 pesos on international ones.
- Some award types can't be refunded at all. Check the rules on screen before you pay.
Do Aeromexico Rewards points expire?
Aeromexico Rewards points don't currently expire. Check your account if you haven't used it in a while.
Mistakes I see most
- Transferring for a partner flight before a phone agent confirms the seat.
- Not checking whether the award is Classic or dynamic. The price and rules differ.
- Using Capital One or Rove when you have Amex points. Amex gives 1,600 points per 1,000.
