How to transfer credit card points to Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards
Last updated October 20, 2026 · By Kyle Burrows
Atmos Rewards is the shared program of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. It replaced Alaska Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles in 2025, and every old mile became one Atmos point. If you still think of it as Mileage Plan, this is the same account under a new name.
You can use Atmos points on Alaska, on Hawaiian, and on oneworld partners such as American, British Airways, Japan Airlines and Qatar Airways, plus some airlines outside oneworld. Partner awards are priced on published charts by distance and region, which is why people like this program for short American flights and for trips on partners.
Which bank points transfer to Atmos Rewards
| Bank points | Ratio | How long it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Bilt Points | 1:1 | Usually instant. Bilt says allow up to 48 hours. |
Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One, Citi ThankYou and Wells Fargo don't transfer to Atmos Rewards. If your points are with one of those banks and you want to fly Alaska or its partners, look at British Airways Avios (guide here), which books Alaska flights, or American AAdvantage if you have Citi points.
Bilt sometimes runs transfer bonuses. Check the transfer screen on the day you move points.
Before you move any points
- Open a free Atmos Rewards account at alaskaair.com if you don't have one. Your member number is in your account.
- Make the names match on your Bilt account, your Atmos account and your passport.
- Know that there are no holds. Atmos doesn't let you hold an award while you wait for points. The points have to be in your account when you book. Find the flight, transfer, then book as soon as the points land.
- Find the flight first. Search alaskaair.com while logged in and confirm the seats and the price before you transfer. Bilt transfers can't be reversed.
- Budget for the partner fee. Awards on partner airlines carry a $20 fee per person, each way. More on that below.
How to transfer Bilt points to Atmos Rewards
- Open the Bilt app or bilt.com and sign in.
- Go to the Rewards tab, then Travel rewards, and tap Transfer.
- Choose Atmos Rewards (Bilt lists it with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines in brackets) and link your account with your Atmos member number.
- Enter the amount in 1,000-point blocks. Members with Blue status have a 2,000-point minimum. Silver, Gold and Platinum members can send 1,000.
- Confirm. The transfer can't be undone.
Check that the points arrived
Log in at alaskaair.com and check the points balance in your account. Most Bilt transfers are immediate. If nothing has shown up after 48 hours, check your Bilt transfer history for the member number and name you used. Don't send a second transfer.
Because there's no hold, the seat can disappear while you wait. That's the main risk with this program, so transfer only once the exact flight is showing on alaskaair.com.
How to book the award on alaskaair.com
- Sign in at alaskaair.com.
- In the flight search, choose the option to use points. Without it you'll see cash prices.
- Enter your airports, dates and travelers. Use the multi-city search if your trip has more than one stop you want to plan yourself.
- Pick your flights. Check the operating airline on every leg (Alaska, Hawaiian, American, Japan Airlines and so on).
- Check the cabin on every leg. A business class trip can include an economy flight.
- Enter each traveler's name, date of birth and gender exactly as on the passport.
- Pay the taxes, fees and any partner fee by card.
- Save the confirmation code and ticket number.
Most awards book online. If one won't, you may need to call Alaska, and booking by phone adds a per-person fee (currently $30). If a seat you saw on another site won't show on alaskaair.com, don't transfer for it.
The fees to know
- Partner award booking fee: $20 per person, each way, on awards that include a partner airline. It isn't refunded if you cancel.
- The Summit card exception: Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite cardholders can have the partner fee waived on eligible bookings when they pay with that card.
Flights operated only by Alaska or Hawaiian don't carry the partner fee.
Changes and cancellations
- Atmos doesn't charge a fee to change an award or to cancel it and get the points back. Cancel before the flight leaves and your points return to your account and the taxes go back to your card.
- The partner fee stays paid. If you cancel and rebook a partner award, you pay the partner fee again, so a change can be cheaper than a cancel and rebook.
- If you miss the flight without cancelling, the whole reservation is cancelled, return flights included, and the points are lost.
- Saver fares (Alaska's cheapest economy fares) don't allow changes, and Alaska doesn't publish a separate rule for Saver awards booked with points. Treat a Saver award as locked.
Do Atmos Rewards points expire?
No. Alaska says Atmos points don't expire. An account with no activity for over two years can be locked for security; you get access back by contacting Atmos Rewards and verifying your details.
Mistakes I see most
- Transferring for a seat that's gone by the time the points land. There's no hold, so check the seat again right before you transfer.
- Forgetting the partner fee for every person, in each direction.
- Cancelling and rebooking a partner award instead of changing it, and paying the partner fee twice.
- Looking for Mileage Plan. It's now Atmos Rewards, on alaskaair.com and on the Bilt partner list (where it's listed as Atmos Rewards, with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines next to it).
